A step-by-step guide to browsing the shop, using your basket, checking out, managing an account and following your orders.

RuneCart User Guide Available to guests and registered customers

01

Getting started

You do not need an account to browse the catalogue. Guests can view products, categories, brands, public information pages and this manual.

  1. Open the shop. Use Home to see featured and recent products.
  2. Use the main navigation. Category links open their product collections. Categories may contain nested subcategories.
  3. Search when you know what you want. The search field at the top of the site accepts product names, terms and product IDs.
  4. Use the account button when needed. You may sign in or create an account, but checkout can also be completed as a guest when the store permits ordering.
Tip: The basket icon in the header always shows the current number of items and basket subtotal.

02

Finding products

Search

  1. Click the search field in the site header.
  2. Begin typing. RuneCart may show quick matching products below the field.
  3. Select a quick result, or press Search / Enter to open the full results page.
  4. Use the full results page to refine the catalogue using the filters that are available.

Categories and subcategories

  1. Choose a category from the main shop navigation or open Categories.
  2. If the category has children, follow the subcategory links to narrow the type of product.
  3. Select a product title or image to open the full product page.

Brands

  1. Open Brands.
  2. Select the manufacturer you are interested in.
  3. Browse the active products currently associated with that brand.

03

Understanding a product page

Product pages may contain different information depending on the item. Typical information includes the current selling price, stock/availability information, description, specifications, product imagery and related products.

  1. Review the product title, price and availability before ordering.
  2. Read the Description for the seller's main product information.
  3. Open or review Specifications where present. These are structured product attributes supplied by the store.
  4. Review product images and any related products shown on the page.
  5. Choose the quantity you want.
  6. Select Add to Basket.
Stock note: An item's ability to be purchased can depend on its stock, back-order or pre-order configuration. Follow the wording shown on the individual product rather than assuming every product is immediately in stock.

04

Using your basket

  1. Open Basket using the basket control in the header.
  2. Review each product, unit price, quantity and line total.
  3. To change quantities, enter the required quantity and use the basket update control.
  4. To remove one line, use that item's remove control.
  5. To start again, use the clear-basket option where shown.
  6. Review the order summary before proceeding.
  7. Select the checkout control when you are ready to enter delivery and payment details.

If the store is temporarily closed to new orders, your basket may remain viewable but checkout will explain that online ordering is unavailable.

05

Checkout — step by step

Checkout recalculates prices, tax, discounts and eligible delivery options on the server before an order is created.

1. Your details

  1. Enter your Name.
  2. Enter a working Email address. Order communication is sent here.
  3. Enter your Phone number where requested.

2. Billing address

  1. If you are signed in and have saved addresses, choose one from the saved-address selector if appropriate.
  2. Otherwise enter address line 1, optional address line 2, town/city, postcode and country.
  3. Check the country and postcode carefully because they can affect tax and shipping eligibility.

3. Delivery address

  1. Choose the appropriate delivery-address option shown by checkout.
  2. If using a separate delivery address, enter the recipient and full address.
  3. If signed in, you may select a suitable saved address where the checkout offers it.

4. Shipping

  1. Wait for checkout to calculate the delivery methods available for the destination and basket.
  2. Select one of the offered shipping services.
  3. If a service you expected is not shown, re-check country, postcode, basket value, weight and destination details. RuneCart only shows rules that match the order.

5. Discount

  1. If you have a discount code, enter it in the Discount code field.
  2. Apply/recalculate checkout as provided by the form.
  3. Confirm the discount appears in the order summary before placing the order.

6. Payment

  1. Select one of the payment methods currently offered to your order.
  2. Different methods can appear depending on country, order value and store configuration.
  3. Review the final subtotal, shipping, tax, discount and total.

7. Terms and place order

  1. Read the linked Terms & Conditions.
  2. Tick the Terms acknowledgement box.
  3. Select Place Order once. Do not repeatedly submit the form while the payment provider is loading.
  4. If an external payment page opens, complete or cancel payment there and allow it to return you to RuneCart.

06

Payments

The exact payment choices are controlled by the store and may differ by order. RuneCart only shows payment methods that are enabled and eligible.

  1. Select the required method during checkout.
  2. If RuneCart opens a secure provider checkout, verify the amount and complete the provider's instructions.
  3. After payment, return to RuneCart rather than closing the process immediately.
  4. Use the order-confirmation page to review the recorded payment status.
  5. If a payment was interrupted, use the payment retry option only when RuneCart offers it for that order. Do not create a second order unless you intend to order twice.
Card and wallet payments: When the store enables Stripe Checkout, eligible customers may be offered card payment plus wallet options such as Apple Pay or Google Pay directly on Stripe's secure checkout page. The exact wallet buttons depend on the customer's device/browser and Stripe eligibility.
Klarna: If the store enables Klarna through Stripe, Stripe may offer Klarna on its secure checkout page when the customer's country, currency, order amount and Klarna eligibility allow it. Klarna manages any instalment/finance agreement; RuneCart receives the payment through Stripe.
PayPal Pay Later: When the store enables Pay Later, RuneCart asks PayPal which options are eligible for the current buyer and order. PayPal may present products such as Pay in 3 or another available Pay Later product. PayPal makes the eligibility/approval decision and manages the repayment agreement; RuneCart does not calculate instalments or make a credit decision.
Pay Later messages while shopping: The store may also show PayPal-generated Pay Later messaging beside a product price, in the basket or during checkout. These messages are supplied dynamically by PayPal for the displayed amount and are promotional information only. They do not guarantee that a particular buyer will be approved when payment is attempted.
Important: A payment-provider screen and RuneCart can update at slightly different times. If you believe money was taken but the order still looks pending, avoid placing a duplicate order and contact the store with the order reference.

07

Ordering as a guest

A guest order does not require you to sign in first.

  1. Add products to the basket and proceed to checkout.
  2. Enter the contact, billing and delivery details requested.
  3. Select shipping and payment and accept the Terms.
  4. Place and, where required, pay for the order.
  5. Keep the order confirmation and email correspondence for your records.

If you later try to register with an email address that has earlier guest-order history, RuneCart may send a secure account-claim/setup email. This is intentional: possession of the email address must be proved before historic guest information can be attached to a new password-protected account.

08

Creating an account

  1. Open Create account.
  2. Enter your name and email address.
  3. Create a password and enter it again in the confirmation field.
  4. Submit the registration form.
  5. Follow any email-verification or secure account-claim instructions sent to the address you supplied.

Do not reuse a password from another website. Your email address is also used for verification and password recovery.

09

Email verification

  1. Check the inbox for the email address registered to your account.
  2. Open the RuneCart verification message.
  3. Use the verification link in that message.
  4. Return to My Account and check that the verification notice has cleared.

If you need another verification email, sign in and use the verification resend control shown in the account area. Repeated requests are rate-limited for security.

10

Signing in and out

  1. Open Sign in.
  2. Enter your account email address.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Select Sign in.

Sign out

  1. Open My Account.
  2. Use the logout/sign-out control.
  3. On a shared device, close the browser when finished.

Repeated failed sign-in attempts are deliberately slowed/limited to protect customer accounts.

11

Forgotten password

  1. Open Forgot Password.
  2. Enter your email address and submit the form.
  3. For privacy, RuneCart does not need to confirm whether an account exists for the address.
  4. If an eligible account exists, use the reset link delivered by email.
  5. Enter and confirm your new password.
  6. Sign in with the new password.
Reset emails are sent immediately when the mail transport is healthy. Requests are rate-limited by source, email identity and customer account. Reset links are one-time security tokens; if a link has expired or has already been used, request a new one.

12

Profile and password

Update your profile

  1. Sign in and open My Account.
  2. In Profile, update your name, phone or other editable details.
  3. If changing your email address, enter your current password as confirmation.
  4. Save the profile.
  5. A changed email address must be verified again; follow the message sent to the new address.

Change your password

  1. Open the Change Password section.
  2. Enter the current password.
  3. Enter the new password and confirmation.
  4. Save the change.

13

Saved addresses

Saved addresses make future checkout faster.

Add an address

  1. Sign in and open My Account.
  2. Find Saved Addresses.
  3. Select the address type and enter the recipient, address lines, town/city, postcode and country.
  4. Save the address.

Edit, make default or delete

  1. Locate the existing saved address.
  2. Edit and save it if the postal details have changed.
  3. Use the default control if that address should be preferred by account/checkout workflows.
  4. Delete addresses you no longer use.

Always verify the delivery address again during checkout even when using a saved address.

14

Viewing order history

  1. Sign in and open My Account.
  2. Find Order History.
  3. Select an order to open its details.
  4. Review the order reference, items, totals, delivery address, order history and any available shipping/tracking information.

RuneCart checks that the requested order belongs to the signed-in customer. Changing an order number in the URL does not grant access to another customer's order.

15

Messages and notes about an order

  1. Open the required order from your account history.
  2. Review Order History / Notes for customer-visible updates.
  3. If the note form is available, type your message in the Note field.
  4. Submit the message once.
  5. Return to the order page later to review subsequent updates.

Do not place payment-card details, account passwords or other secrets in order notes.

16

Reordering a previous order

  1. Sign in and open the previous order.
  2. Use the reorder control if it is available.
  3. RuneCart attempts to add order items back to the current basket.
  4. Review the basket carefully. Current availability and current pricing apply; an old order is not a promise that every product can still be purchased on the same terms.
  5. Proceed through checkout normally.

17

Ask a question about a product

  1. Open the product you want to ask about.
  2. Find the Ask about… section.
  3. Enter your name and email address.
  4. Type the question. Mention the exact information you need.
  5. Leave the hidden anti-spam field untouched if one is present.
  6. Submit the question.

Question submission is rate-limited to reduce spam and abuse.

18

Troubleshooting common problems

I cannot see a shipping method I expected.

Confirm the destination country and postcode and review the basket. Shipping rules can depend on destination, weight, quantity, dimensions, subtotal and product shipping-size rules.

My discount code was not accepted.

Check the spelling and confirm that the code is still valid for the current order. Discount rules can have dates, usage limits and minimum basket values.

Payment completed but RuneCart still says pending.

Do not immediately place the order again. Payment providers and webhooks may finish at slightly different times. Keep the order reference and contact the store if the status does not update.

I did not receive an email.

Check spam/junk folders and confirm the account or checkout email address. If the problem continues, contact the store and provide the order reference where relevant.

A password/verification link no longer works.

Security links expire and are one-time use. Request a fresh reset or verification message.

The store says ordering is closed or maintenance is active.

The catalogue may remain available while ordering is intentionally paused. Follow the message shown by the store and return later.

19

Keeping your account secure

  • Use a unique password that you do not use on another website.
  • Keep control of the email account attached to RuneCart; it is used for verification and recovery.
  • Never send your password in a product question or order note.
  • Sign out after using a shared computer.
  • Be cautious of messages asking you to bypass the normal RuneCart/payment-provider flow.
  • If you change your account email, expect RuneCart to require your current password and verification of the new address.
